One of the important things to consider nowadays is on how to improve our environment. There are lots of things that we can do, but of course sometimes we need a good start. For this good idea, there are also lots of good companies that already started doing it. Most of us will find it very interesting, for the reason that it already started in big scale. Such companies include Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR). They have introduced their Green Portfolio Program, which can improve the environment. These four are proper usage of chemicals, disposal of waste, paper and energy and water.

Basically, the program includes Ken Mehlman, which happens to be a senior member of the KKR and the head of Global Public. Mehlman has been a longtime figure in the Republican Party. He was a campaign manager for the 2004 re-election campaign of George W. Bush before serving as chairman of the Republican National Committee from 2005 to 2007. In June 2007, Bush appointed Ken Mehlman to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council. Ken Mehlman practiced environmental law for three years in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the D.C. and Maryland bars. He is a 1991 graduate of Harvard Law School and 1988 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College.

Anyway, it is nice to know that a lot of people like Ken Mehlman, who want to pursue such environmental projects. It is a good act from my point of view, but of course we must help each other. For that, we can hope that someday we will have a healthy environment for the next generations to live in.
